Chicken breast or thighs, cut into steaks ⭑
Boiling water (2 parts stock to 1 part water i.e. 2 cups stock to 1 cup water)
Seasonings and salt, to taste (optional)
Add chicken to a pot along with stock, water, seasoning and salt (if using), cover with a lid and bring to a boil. Once boiling, turn off heat and leave, still covered for about 15 minutes. The residual heat will cook the chicken and avoid the possibility of overcooking and going dry. Once cooked, remove chicken pieces from pot onto a board then using two forks shred the chicken.
